Ask a question:

How do I replace Window Media Player as the default on my Windows computer?

In your Music course, you may see the following error message:

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file. The Player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file."

This means that the video files need to be played using QuickTime not Windows Media Player.

Here's how to change your default player:

 1. Click on the "Start" button.

 2. Select "Default Programs."

 3. Select "Set program access and computer defaults."

 4. From the list that appears, select "Non-Microsoft."

 5. In the middle, there is an option for "Media Player."

 6. Select "QuickTime" from the list to set it as your default.

 7. Click on "OK" to save the changes.

After you finish watching the videos, you can switch the default back Windows Media Player.
