MIDI plug-in missing in Mac 10.8 Mountain Lion or 10.9 Mavericks

Solution

If you are unable to access listening tests or practice room activities on a Mac computer running OS 10.8 (Mountain Lion) or 10.9 (Mavericks), you will need to access this content using a Mac running earlier versions of OSX or by using a Windows computer.

Unfortunately, Apple is no longer supporting the MIDI plug-in in OS 10.8 (Mountain Lion) and 10.9 (Mavericks) that is needed to listen to the music clips in the listening tests (and in practice room activities). Macs that are running OS 10.7 (Lion) and OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard) will allow you to hear the listening test content.

If you are not able to use another Mac or even a Windows computer to access the tests, you should get in touch with your instructor directly to let him or her know that you are having trouble accessing the course content.
