Instructions for MAC USERS

For Safari:

1.  Under the "Safari" drop-down menu in the upper left corner of your screen, select "Preferences."

2.  In the new window that pops up, you will see several icons across the top. Select "Privacy."

3.  Under "Privacy," you will see two buttons in the category "Cookies and other website data." If you select "Remove All Website Data," all of the stored cookies in your browser will be deleted. Because the consequences of that choice are drastic, we recommend selecting the button "Details" that will display the URLs and other descriptions of the cookies and other data stored by your browser.

4.  An expandable drop-down menu will be displayed that includes a search field (white box with a magnifying glass icon inside). Type the word "Moodle" or the phrase "Coastlinelive," and you will see the cookies that are stored when using these sites.

5.  To delete the associated cookies, highlight "moodle.org" or "coastlinelive.com" and then select the "Remove" button to delete the stored information.

6.  After the stored information is removed, click the "Done" button. Then close and relaunch the Safari browser and access your course.

For Firefox:

1.  Under the "Firefox" drop-down menu in the upper left corner of your screen, select "Preferences."

2.  In the new window that pops up, you will see several icons across the top. Select "Privacy."

3.  Under "Privacy," you will see a heading called "History." The first item says "Firefox will" followed by a drop-down menu that allows you to select "Remember all history," "Never remember history," or "Use custom settings for history." Selecting "Use custom settings for history" will allow to to adjust the browser's cached history to store as much or as little information as you choose.

4.  Next, there are a series of check boxes displayed. Unchecking the box next to "Remember my browsing and download history" will prevent the browser from storing information about sites you visit.

5.  Checking the box next to "Accept cookies from sites" will allow you to make choices on two drop-down menus. The first menu says "Accept third-party cookies" with the choices "Always," "From visited," or "Never." The second menu says "Keep until" with the choices "they expire," "Firefox closes," or "ask me every time."

6.  To delete individual cookies, select the button "Cookies" that will display the descriptions of the cookies and other data stored by your browser.

7.  An expandable drop-down menu will be displayed that includes a search field (white box with a magnifying glass icon inside). Type the word "Moodle," and you will see the cookies that are stored when using these site.

8.  After the stored information is removed, click the "Done" button. Then close and relaunch the Firefox browser and access your course.
